Cloud Well-Architected Framework

Cloud Well-Architected Framework is a case interview framework for cloud migration, architecture, optimization. Use to evaluate whether an architecture is safe, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective

When to use it

Use to evaluate whether an architecture is safe, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective

Where it fits

Best for evaluating cloud solutions, design reviews, and architecture assessment

How to use it in a case

Assess each pillar (1-5 scale or maturity model). For each pillar, identify gaps and prioritize improvements. Use as checkpoint in architecture design process.

  1. Operational Excellence. Ability to run and monitor workloads, understand system behavior, procedures
  2. Security. Protect data, systems, and assets. Identity, access control, encryption, monitoring
  3. Reliability. Ability to recover from failures, scale to handle demand, prevent misconfiguration
  4. Performance Efficiency. Use computing resources efficiently, maintain performance as demand changes
  5. Cost Optimization. Avoid unnecessary costs, use right resources, understand spending, optimize over time
  6. Sustainability. Minimize environmental impact of cloud workloads

Case types

Cloud Migration, Architecture, Optimization.
